- Multiple postdoc openings in wearable electronics for environmental and physiological monitoring. Projects include formulation of novel printable inks for stretchable circuits and transducers as well as robust microelectronics integration and energy harvesting.
- Postdoc opening for novel materials and 3D printing techniques for in-space additive manufacturing. Project includes on-orbit repair and fabrication of space technologies with space grade polymers using a 6 DOF robot printer.

ESTAT is an SML spin-off that produces electroadhesive clutch technologies for applications in robotics, wearables, and manufacturing.
ESTAT is seeking a recent PhD graduate (US Citizen, National, or Permanent Resident) for a one-year fellowship affiliated with the NSF SBIR program. Our current projects include rotary clutch optimization, design of hardware and controls for a head and neck injury prevention system for pilots, and customer implementation in mobile and wearable robots. An ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced environment and has a background in MechE, Robotics, ECE, CS, Industrial Engineering, MSE, or a similar field.

Dual degree PhD Positions in Soft Robotics • CMU-Portugal
The Soft Machines Laboratory (CMU) and Institute of Systems and Robotics (http://www.isr.uc.pt) at University of Coimbra (UC) have joint PhD openings in the area of Soft Robotics. Students will receive a dual degree through the CMU-Portugal Program (http://www.cmuportugal.org/) and spend two years each at UC and CMU.
Their research will focus on the development of soft multifunctional materials, stretchable electronics, and mechatronics systems for safe physical interactions between humans and machines. This includes 3D printed soft robotics, wearable electronics for human motion tracking, and artificial skin for humanoids and prosthetics. This is a 4-year PhD program, with the candidate spending 2-years each at CMU and UC.
We are particularly looking for candidates with hands-on experience in microfabrication, additive manufacturing, and/or mechatronics.
